Position Summary: ย 
Any Baby Can is looking for an intern to further our mission to create a community that champions child development and supports families in need. Our Development Internship will help prepare future philanthropic leaders for a competitive and fulfilling career. Interns will work with our development team to gain hands-on experience in donor stewardship, research, grant writing, and event management. This part-time unpaid internship offers technical insight into non-profit fundraising and transferable skills in nonprofit administration.

Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance and supervision of the Chief Development Officer, the intern will work with Development team members and may engage in the following projects:

  • Fundraising campaigns and event support, including assisting with soliciting, receiving, and occasionally picking up donated auction items, in-kind gifts, and event materials from community partners
  • Donor stewardship and database management, including drafting emails, thank you letters, and in-kind tracking
  • Prospect research, including corporate donor research and engagement strategies
  • Grant writing research and drafting community grants
  • Volunteer coordination and project support
  • Office support including organization of marketing collateral, event materials
  • Additional duties depending on department needs and internโ€™s interests

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate student, enrolled in courses during the internship period majoring in Communication, Sociology, Social Work, or relevant field
  • Interest in development and non-profit fundraising
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Commitment to team-oriented philosophy, and an ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office products
  • Adherence to principles of ethical fundraising
  • Must be based in the Austin area with reliable transportation to travel to Any Baby Can of Austinโ€™sย Main Office and Event Venue(s); some work may be completed remotely

Special Considerations:

  • Fall Semester 2026 (Approximately 13 weeks, accounting for university breaks).ย 
  • Flexible/Hybrid. Coordination with class schedule to ensure consistent availability during scheduled working hours.
  • This position requires periodic availability outside normal working hours for events and activities
  • Minimum 16 hours per week.
  • Intern (s) must have reliable transportation to travel within the assigned region; if driving own vehicle, must have valid driverโ€™s license and current vehicle insurance
