The Opportunity

The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of learning programs that enhance employee performance, engagement, and capability across the enterprise. This role partners closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and business stakeholders to assess learning needs and create effective learning solutions for onboarding, compliance, professional development, and job-specific skill development. This position manages and maintains learning programs within the Learning Management System (LMS), provides guidance and support to learners and administrators, monitors training effectiveness, and recommends continuous improvements. The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for creating the assigned learning initiatives from needs analysis and content development through implementation and evaluation as well as continuous improvements, under the direction of the appropriate L&D Partner.

What you will do?

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve learning programs and curricula to support onboarding, safety, HR compliance, and professional development needs, partnering with the Sr. L&D Partner and subject matter experts as needed.
  • Design, develop, and deliver technical and job-specific training programs in collaboration with the L&D Partner and subject matter experts.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to assess learning needs and develop and deliver site-specific training solutions.
  • Facilitate and deliver training programs through virtual and in-person instructor-led formats.
  • Design and develop engaging learning experiences and materials using authoring tools and multimedia platforms.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance learning assets, including e-learning modules, job aids, facilitator guides, participant materials, assessments, and other training resources that support professional and technical development.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify critical knowledge, gather content, validate accuracy, and translate complex information into effective learning solutions.
  • Ensure all learning content is accurate, current, compliant, and aligned with organizational standards, business objectives, and adult learning principles.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on training participation, learner engagement, knowledge transfer, and program effectiveness recommending and implementing improvements based on results.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Communication, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of experience in learning and development, instructional design, training delivery, or talent development within a corporate environment.
  • Experience partnering with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and business stakeholders to gather information, analyze learning needs, develop training content, and translate complex concepts into effective and engaging learning solutions.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms and e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed to facilitate trainings.

  • Experience supporting training in operations, manufacturing, construction, or multi-site environment.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
