Where you will work: This position offers a hybrid work option up to 50% and is based out of the Bloomington, IL office location.
The contributions you will make: This position evaluates and performs functional, integration and regression testing on business applications. Supports Business Systems Analysts, Developers and other stakeholders in analysis of business needs, process improvements and new technologies. Develops procedures to efficiently create and execute test plans, track defects and resolve identified issues. Verifies that applications conform and function according to established standards. Develops automated test scripts and maintains an automation framework using QA software tools and processes. Integrates automated scripts into the DevOps build release pipeline. Provides expertise and mentorship across the organization.
A typical day:
Quality Assurance
  • Collaborates with Business Systems Analysts, Developers, and other stakeholders to review project requests, participate in design sessions and determine testing goals.
  • Creates detailed, comprehensive and well-structure test plans and test cases.
  • Estimates, prioritizes, plans and coordinates testing activities.
  • Works with Developers, Business Analyst, and Product Owner to identify test cases for automation.
  • Assists with environment and data setup.
  • Performs manual testing.
  • Executes automated test scripts and reviews results.
  • Monitors DevOps dashboard.
  • Reports and documents defects, issues and associated risk.
  • Provides testing status updates to the project team.
  • Reviews user interfaces for consistency and functionality.
  • Suggests improvements on features and processes.
  • Conducts software demos to project team as needed.
  • Supports User Acceptance Testing as needed.
  • Creates automated test scripts, tests APIs and maintains an automation framework using QA software tools and processes.
  • Integrates automated scripts into the DevOps build release process and monitors DevOps dashboard.
  • Works independently to complete routine to moderately complex automated test scripts.
  • Appropriately protects the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the organization's systems and data and clients' data.

Continuous Improvement
  • Leads efforts to develop, implement and review quality processes and methodologies.
  • Participates with cross-functional Digital Technology teams to formulate best practices.
  • Researches new testing tools, technologies and strategies.

The skills and experience we prefer you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in math, computer science, management information systems, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • 3+ years of experience in a software development environment as an automation engineer.
  • Strong experience testing and automating Kentico-based websites, preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright for end-to-end testing, preferred.
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently set up testing processes and workflows.
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience creating automated test scripts and integrating them into the DevOps build-release pipeline.
  • Strong experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Familiarity with SQL queries, scripting, and coding used in QA automation tools.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations by proactively seeking solutions and reaching out when necessary.
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical issues clearly and share ideas, solutions, and feedback with the team.
  • A quick learner who collaborates well, applies critical thinking to problem-solving, and takes initiative.

The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for variable compensation and other benefits.
