Summary: The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting Corporate Finance and Accounting through financial planning, reporting, and analysis. This position partners with business leaders to develop budgets and forecasts, analyze monthly results, evaluate business opportunities, and provide actionable insights that support informed decision-making.
Essential Duties:
• Partner with management to provide financial reporting and analysis that support business performance and strategic decision-making by translating financial results into actionable insights highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
• Support product cost accounting, non-standard analysis, and business unit cost estimates to improve profitability and operational performance.
• Prepare monthly financial variance analysis, identify trends, and collaborate with Accounting and business partners to resolve financial, cost, and accounting issues.
• Lead and support the annual operating plan and quarterly forecasting processes by providing data, analysis, and clear business recommendations.
• Prepare and perform quarterly standard cost updates; analyze manufacturing variances and present key findings to leadership.
• Perform ad hoc financial reporting, modeling, and analysis to support business needs and special projects.
• Coach, train, and provide directions to junior and intermediate financial analysis staff to support development and cross-training within the department.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting tools, and analytics that enhance efficiency and decision support.
• Maintain and enhance financial models, planning templates, and reporting dashboards (e.g., Vena, Power BI) to improve forecasting accuracy and visibility.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Experience/Education:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of business finance, financial analysis, accounting, or other relevant experience.
• Advanced analytical skills with strong proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, reporting, and data-driven business analysis.
• Experience with product cost accounting, standard costing, or non-standard analysis is preferred but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate financial information into clear business insights.
• Results-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage deadlines with strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership, follow through, and drive continuous improvement.
• Experience with Sage X3, Power BI, Vena, or similar ERP, planning, reporting, and analytics tools is a plus.
