S&W Wholesale Foods is Louisiana’s leading independent food service supplier and is on the Move. We are looking for a Customer Service Representative to join our team at our Baton Rouge location! The Customer Service Representative is responsible for interfacing with customers in both in-person, phone and e-mail interactions. The Customer Service Representative develops and maintains positive customer relations and coordinates with various functions within the company to ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.

What you’ll do:

  • Supporting the outside sales team
  • Assisting in company sales growth
  • Portraying a positive company image and engaging in professional and friendly communications with customers
  • Answers phones, transfers call and takes messages
  • Processing orders by mail, telephone, fax, email, or other employees
  • Actively listening to customer needs and inquiries to determine appropriate service actions
  • Assisting colleagues and other employees with administrative duties
  • Referring any customer questions regarding products or services to the appropriate person
  • Performing accurate company-required recordkeeping
  • Resolving customer issues to the best of your abilities or directing them to appropriate person to handle their issue.
  • Informing customers of prices, shipping dates, anticipated delays and any additional information needed by customer.
  • Following-up on orders to ensure delivery by specified dates
  • Performing other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of customer service procedures and principles.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints and issues while maintaining a professional and calm demeanor.
  • Time Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Minimum Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), 1 - 2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Customer Service Experience
