Responsibilities: This person will direct the negotiation and procurement of all property/casualty insurance coverage. To coordinate and monitor all processes related to property/casualty claims activity, including payment of insurance claims and premiums. Prepare accounting allocations for insurance premiums and claims costs, and reconcile insurance-related GL accounts. All duties should be performed in accordance with company policy.
What You'll Do

  • Coordinate with and provide information to MFA's insurance broker to assist with the policy renewal process for all corporate property and casualty insurance policies
  • Evaluate proposals provided by broker from different insurance carriers to determine appropriate premiums, deductibles, and insurance coverages for renewals
  • Provide reports and advice to upper management on all insurance matters, including financial, legal and accounting ramifications related to policy renewals and claims settlements
  • Work with insurance claims processors, MFA broker, and MFA personnel to resolve all property and casualty claims in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with and provide information to insurance adjusters on claims processed by insurance companies
  • Work with agronomy department and store managers to help resolve liability disputes with MFA farmers/customers in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with accounts payable department for the timely payment of all insurance premiums and claims
