Job description

Insurance Consultant

Aon Global Risk Consulting's Lender Insurance Advisory (LIA) practice is seeking a Senior Insurance Consultant to join our growing team.

In this role, you will partner with clients, colleagues, and industry stakeholders to help organizations navigate complex risk and insurance challenges. Working closely with the U.S. LIA Director, you will lead consulting projects, support client engagements, develop strategic recommendations, and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a risk management professional who enjoys solving complex business problems, building trusted client relationships, and delivering impactful consulting solutions.

What the Day Will Look Like

  • Lead and manage multiple client consulting engagements from planning through delivery.
  • Conduct risk assessments and risk analysis to identify exposures, evaluate insurance programs, and support client decision-making.
  • Develop strategic recommendations designed to strengthen risk management programs and improve business outcomes.
  • Prepare proposals and responses to RFPs for prospective clients.
  • Present findings, insights, and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, account executives, producers, and consulting colleagues.
  • Collaborate with global Aon teams to deliver integrated risk and insurance solutions.
  • Review insurance programs, contractual requirements, and supporting documentation to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluate business processes, governance practices, and internal controls that support effective risk management.
  • Support clients in addressing compliance, insurance, and contractual risk transfer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, deliverables, and reports to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Contribute to practice development by sharing expertise, supporting colleagues, and expanding knowledge in specialized areas of risk and insurance consulting.

Skills and Experience That Will Help You Succeed

Successful candidates typically bring:

  • 5-7 years of experience in corporate risk management, risk and insurance consulting, commercial insurance brokerage, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, Law, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Paralegal, insurance or safety litigation work
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and client engagements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, insurance programs, contractual risk transfer, and insurance requirements.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, evaluating controls, and developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Strong report writing, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Commitment to client service, collaboration, professional integrity, and continuous learning.
  • Advanced degree or professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or similar credentials are valued but not required.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $60,000 - $80,000 annually. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
