Specialty Claim Associate - Remote Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialty Claim Associate to join our Specialty Liability Claims team. In this remote role, you will tackle challenging Employment Practices Liability (EPL) claims, applying your expertise to address the evolving needs of the workplace. Members of our team deal with issues at the intersection of social and legal landscapes. Through collaborative efforts with external legal experts and our policyholders, you will play a key part in resolving sensitive claims, including those involving workplace disputes, discrimination, and harassment allegations. Other products supported including Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Contractor's Errors & Omissions and Cyber Liability.

Education and Experience

  • College degree is required. Law degree is preferred.
  • At least 2+ years of Employment Practices Liability claims and litigated claims management.
  • Experience managing panel counsel, litigation guidelines, reviewing law firm billing.
  • Experience with other claims-made professional/management liability lines such as Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Contractor's E&O, D&O, Cyber Liability, preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Employment Practices Liability exposures and employment law concepts
  • Complete accurate and timely coverage assessments and letters, liability and damage investigations, and evaluations of complex Employment Practices Liability insurance policies.
  • Establish, document and execute appropriate strategies to bring early and cost-effective resolution to assigned claims.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external customers, clients, underwriters & agents.
  • Consistently demonstrate sound claim handling practices by achieving compliance in areas including investigation, coverage, loss assessment, and case management
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and build relationships with all levels of internal and external contacts.
  • An aptitude for evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting technical information; sound critical thinking and decision making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and professionally
  • Flexibility and willingness to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment; excellent organization and time management skills.
