Job description

Zurich is currently hiring a Claims Associate II to join their Workers' Compensation Claims Team. This is a great opportunity to start a career in claims by learning how to interpret, investigate and evaluate policies and coverage issues, as well as claims handling and best practices. At this level, you will manage workers compensation claims caseload that consists of low to moderate exposure.ย  As part of Zurich North America's commitment to service excellence, you will build partnerships with customers and brokers and may be aligned to specific accounts.ย 

This is a remote position for a strong candidate with a background in insurance, customer service, multi-tasking, and experience in medical terminology and/or medical coding in California.

As a Claims Associate II - Workers Comp, your primary responsibilities will include:ย 

  • Reviewing new claims and ensuring all required information is complete
  • Making initial contact
  • Responding promptly to emails and phone calls to address questions or concerns
  • Processing incoming mail and handling relevant documentation efficiently
  • Managing medical requests and coordinating with providers as needed
  • Evaluating claims for closure and making decisions that support positive outcomes

ย Basic Qualifications:ย ย 

  • Bachelor's Degree and no prior experience required in the Claims area
  • OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Customer Service area
  • OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and no prior experience required in the Claims area
  • AND
  • Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office

  • Insurance industry, medical terminology, or medical billing knowledge
  • Analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills
  • Adapt to a changing environment

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed hourly rate for this position is $22.40 - $30.87, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 5%.
