The Receiving Clerk reports directly tothe Director of Purchasing. The porter is responsible for handling all receivingof deliveries and storage of all food goods. Additionally, deep cleaning,product rotation, and organization of common storage areas are expected to becompleted daily or weekly depending on the scope of the project. The porteralso assists with completion of daily receiving logs and ensures all productreceived is of acceptable quality. Communication with the managers regardingdaily tasks and responsibilities is necessary.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

  • Receiving of deliveries and proper storage with attention to labellingand organization
  • Continual rotation of products following the FIFO system andcommunication with supervisors regarding any product that needs processing or fabrication.
  • Recording daily food inventory pars.
  • Deep cleaning and pressure washing of walk-in coolers daily.
  • Organization and deep cleaning of dry storage areas daily.
  • Organization and consolidation of all fruit and citrus daily.
  • Cleaning of kitchen bay windows each week.
  • Attention to proper food storage in regards to the established food andsafety practices.
  • Keeping the backdoor of the kitchen area clean throughout the shift.
  • Completion of receiving logs each day as directed.
  • Additional organization of storage areas as directed by AM managers andsupervisors.
  • Drive company vehicle to safely transport goods between Warehouse and The Inn at Little Washington.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • A reliable mode of transportation to and from work.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. The company will conduct a Motor Vehicle Background check upon hiring and once a year for any employee driving a company vehicle.
  • Understanding of proper sanitation and usage of cleaning suppliesappropriately.
  • Positive Attitude.
  • Ability to work weekends.
  • Comfortable working in a high paced professional kitchen environment.

Desirable

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a professional kitchen.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

SKILLS

  • An eye for organization and detailed cleaning.
  • The ability to be self-motivated and take directionas given by management.
  • Strong communication skills and work ethic.
  • A sense of responsibility for cleanliness andorganization.
  • Following guidance and direction effectively,efficiently, and appropriately.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to standfor long periods of time (8-10 hours consistently).
  • Requires exposureto hot pans, sharp knives, open flames, and temperatures ranging from hot tocold.
  • Availability andunderstanding that the position often requires hours in excess of a standardworkweek (40-50 hours).
