Job description

Pediatric Medical Assistant — Make Every Child’s Visit Feel Safe, Smooth, and Supportive

We’re looking for a compassionate, organized, and energetic Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our care team. In this role, you’ll help create a welcoming experience for children and families while supporting providers with both clinical and administrative care in a fast-paced pediatric setting.

What You’ll Do

·         Welcome patients and families with warmth, patience, and professionalism.

·         Room patients, obtain medical histories, update medications and allergies, and record symptoms accurately.

·         Measure and document pediatric vital signs, growth measurements, and age-appropriate screenings.

·         Prepare exam rooms, supplies, instruments, vaccines, and equipment for patient visits and procedures.

·         Assist providers during exams, procedures, developmental screenings, and well-child visits.

·         Administer vaccines and medications as permitted by law, clinic policy, and provider direction.

·         Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing such as rapid strep, flu, urine, hearing, or vision screenings.

·         Document care clearly in the electronic medical record while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

·         Support families with education on immunizations, medications, nutrition, milestones, and home-care instructions.

·         Help maintain a clean, organized, child-friendly, and infection-control compliant clinic environment.

Administrative Support

·         Schedule appointments, follow-ups, referrals, and patient forms for school, daycare, and sports physicals.

·         Answer phone calls and patient portal messages with clear, friendly communication.

·         Register patients, verify insurance, assist with prior authorizations, and coordinate referrals as needed.

·         Maintain medical records, vaccine inventory, medications, and clinical supplies.

What We’re Looking For

·         Medical Assistant training, certification, or relevant clinical experience preferred.

·         Pediatric experience is a plus, but a strong passion for working with children is essential.

·         Excellent communication skills with both children and caregivers.

·         Ability to stay calm, kind, and focused in a busy clinical environment.

·         Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.

·         Comfort using electronic medical records and basic office technology.

·         Knowledge of infection control, patient privacy, and safe clinical practices.

Who You’ll Care For

You’ll support patients from newborns and infants to toddlers, school-age children, and teens—using age-appropriate communication, comfort techniques, and family-centered care to make every visit a positive experience.

Why This Role Matters

As a Pediatric Medical Assistant, you’ll be one of the first friendly faces families see. Your ability to comfort children, support parents, keep patient flow moving, and assist providers helps deliver the safe, efficient, high-quality care every child deserves.
