DESCRIPTIONOpportunity to join high performing insurance service team supporting the construction industry. We help contractors build with confidence through a partnership of risk management and risk transfer. We are team that works to support our clients, one another, and our community.
SUMMARY

Learn to perform a variety of duties related to transacting insurance to help the assigned team and agents with daily assigned tasks and activities related to maintaining existing business and securing new business to the agency. Success found in working well as a valuable part of the support team.


QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Become proficient with AMS 360

Process/maintain expiration lists

Prepare and/or update submission applications in AMS

Set-up submission files in marketing folder

Order loss runs

Order MVRs

Create/update supplemental applications

Learn carrier preferences

Submit applications to assigned carriers

Rate applications online with appropriate carriers

Generate routine correspondence

Manage/maintain AMS suspense

Maintain carrier files and marketing information database

Maintain loss run carrier database

Prepare policies for delivery to clients

Order and process change requests/verifications

Review and process endorsements

Learn to issue certificates of insurance and/or evidence of property insurance

Assist with premium collection, notices of cancellation, etc

Assist in other areas as needed within the team and throughout the office as required


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or Equivalent with Customer Service Experience Preferred

Must be proficient with Outlook and Word computer programs and have a working knowledge of Excel. Should be able to type a minimum of 35 WPM

Must participate in seminars/classes for knowledge, skill development and continuing education to maintain license



LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to read and interpret insurance policy language

Must be able to read and comprehend procedure manuals, as well as compose professional correspondence, memos, e-mail, and relative correspondence

Ability to effectively present information one-on-one by phone and/or small group situations to agents, managers, and other employees of the organization


REASONINGABILITY

Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

An active Property and Casualty Insurance License must be obtained within 6 months from date of hire to be considered for continued employment


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus as necessary for computer work, data entry and paperwork.
