Job description

We’re Looking for an Assistant Account Executive at ADsmith

ADsmith is looking for a motivated, detail-driven account service professional to join our team of strategists, creatives, and media specialists. This role is built for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where organization, communication, and follow-through are the foundation of great work.

You’re a natural connector. You understand how projects move through an agency — from brief to delivery — and you know how to keep all the right people informed without letting anything fall through the cracks. You don’t just track tasks; you help the team run better.

Working closely with our Account Leads, you’ll be the communication hub between account service, creative, digital, and media — keeping work moving, quality high, and clients well-served. You’ll contribute ideas, manage project flow, and help ensure every deliverable lands on time and on strategy.

If you’re someone who gets energized by a well-run process, thrives in a team environment, and wants to grow inside a creative agency that takes its work seriously — this is the role.

A Little About Us

We’re ADsmith — a team of strategists, creatives, media specialists, researchers, and award-winning storytellers who believe in Intentional Marketing. Everything we do is grounded in smart strategy and data, but always with an eye toward human connection and real-world results.

We work with regional brands, national manufacturers, and passionate local businesses across a wide range of industries. Some are exciting and high-profile; others are quieter but equally essential. We treat them all with the same level of creativity, curiosity, and care.

We’re a team of about 20 people based in Springfield, Missouri. We work hard, we take our craft seriously, and we genuinely like each other. Culture isn’t a bullet point here — it’s something we protect. We want people who love what they do and love who they do it with. ADsmith is meant to be a career and a community — a place where you work, play, and thrive.

We’re growing intentionally, which means we hire carefully. If that sounds like your kind of place, keep reading.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the communication hub between Account Leads and creative, digital, and media teams
  • Manage internal workflows, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure projects move efficiently through the system
  • Track progress and proactively flag when projects are drifting outside of parameters or deadlines
  • Support Account Leads in day-to-day client communication and project organization
  • Keep everyone informed on project status, next steps, and deliverables
  • Maintain thorough documentation throughout the life of each project
  • Deliver meaningful insights through research — uncovering trends, competitor activity, and fresh marketing perspectives that inform strategy
  • Ensure all work follows established agency workflows and quality standards
  • Help forecast upcoming workloads and identify potential bottlenecks before they become problems
  • Coordinate with team leads on bandwidth and scheduling needs
  • Work cross-functionally with creative, media, digital, and leadership teams
  • Be a positive, dependable force in helping the team deliver great work on time

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an organized, communicative professional who takes ownership of their work, communicates proactively, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative agency environment.

Experience & Skills

  • 1–2 years of experience in project management, marketing, or a related field — agency experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, project management, or a related business field
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Comfort with project management tools such as Basecamp or similar platforms
  • Basic understanding of marketing principles and client service dynamics preferred
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes and technologies

Who You Are

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented — you live for lists, calendars, and follow-through
  • A strong communicator who can clearly share information and manage expectations across team
  • An active social media user who understands platform fundamentals, audience behavior, and emerging trends
  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • A proactive problem-solver who anticipates needs before they arise
  • A collaborative team player with a genuine willingness to learn and adapt
  • Someone who takes ownership seriously — your projects are your projects
  • Mature enough to handle complexity, humble enough to keep growing

Why You’ll Love It Here

We’ve invested in making ADsmith a place where talented people want to stay — and where they actually do. Here’s what that looks like in practice:

The Culture

  • A team that supports (and sometimes challenges) you — in the best way
  • Leadership that values curiosity, accountability, and innovation
  • Colleagues who take pride in their work and still know how to have fun
  • Clients across industries — varying in size and glamour — who are grateful, interesting, and loyal
  • A company culture that emphasizes balance, collaboration, and real growth
  • Work, play, and thrive — that’s the goal here, not just hustle

The Perks

  • Full medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Simple IRA with 3% company match
  • Annual Thrive bonuses tied to agency revenue goals
  • 16 days (128 hours) of Paid Time Off (vacation, sick, personal)
  • Generous holiday schedule — 13 paid holidays including New Year’s Eve
  • Hybrid work schedule — 3 days at home, 2 days in office; flexibility for what works (Hybrid schedule awarded after initial milestones are met)
  • $50/month cell phone reimbursement
  • Upgraded tech: new laptops, dual monitors, proper cloud backup, the right software
  • Ongoing professional development
  • A real growth ladder — there’s somewhere to go from this position. We promote based on results, readiness, and the kind of professional maturity that makes teams better. If you grow, we grow together.
