Job description

GARNEY CONSTRUCTION

A Risk Manager position is available at Garney. The main responsibility of the Risk Manager is the management of Garney's insurance and surety programs. Assess the company's risk mitigation through placement of, and educating our teams on, our insurance program so that in the event of a catastrophic loss, Garney is not financially devastated.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Review/vet contract insurance and surety requirements

  • Work as a liaison between broker, insurance carriers, and project teams

  • Answer inquiries from employee owners and other entities

  • Review incidents to determine insurance coverage applicability

  • Act as a resource for insurance questions from brokers, carriers, sureties, project owners, subcontractors, employee owners, and vendors/software suppliers

  • Assist in evaluating the performance of brokers and carriers to ensure they are meeting/exceeding company standards

  • Coordinate the annual insurance renewal

  • Facilitate policy quotes

  • Maintain and develop training/reference materials

  • Manage outstanding claims and processes

  • Training employees and resolving errors or employee owner escalations

  • Timely processing of new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates

  • Handles discipline, termination, and performance evaluations

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience in management/supervisorial positions

  • Experience in a work-related field

  • CRIS (Construction Risk Insurance Specialist)- Preferred
