Job description

Licensed Insurance Agent — Farmers Insurance Agency (Denton, TX)

Job Title: Licensed Insurance Agent

Location: Denton, TX (in-office, Monday–Friday)

Compensation: $35,000 base salary + uncapped commission/bonus structure

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Agency:

Our Farmers Insurance agency in Denton, TX is growing and looking to add an experienced, licensed insurance agent to our team. We specialize in protecting families and individuals through Home, Auto, Life, Renters, and other personal lines coverage. This is an opportunity to join an established, supportive office with real earning potential for the right person.

The Role:

We're looking for a licensed insurance professional who knows the business — someone who can walk into client conversations with confidence, understands coverage inside and out, and knows how to build trust quickly. This is not an entry-level position; we need someone who can hit the ground running.

Responsibilities

  • Sell and cross-sell Home, Auto, Life, Renters, and other personal lines policies to new and existing clients
  • Conduct needs-based insurance reviews to identify coverage gaps and upsell opportunities
  • Generate new business through referrals, networking, and lead follow-up
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing policyholders to drive retention and renewals
  • Process quotes, applications, and policy changes accurately and efficiently
  • Stay current on carrier products, underwriting guidelines, and state insurance regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service and handle client inquiries professionally

Qualifications

  • Active Texas Property & Casualty license required (Life & Health license a plus)
  • Prior insurance sales experience required — candidates should be comfortable discussing coverage details and closing business without extensive hand-holding
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Proficient with basic computer/CRM systems
  • Professional, reliable, and team-oriented

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $35,000/year
  • Bonus/Commission: Uncapped bonus structure — top performers have significant earning potential beyond base pay
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, in-office (no weekends)
