QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent work experience is required.
  2. Financial accounting and reporting with 0 to 2 years of experience. 2 years of experience in the life insurance industry preferred.
  3. Knowledge of GAAP and STAT accounting and experience with reconcilliations, journal entries, and financial reporting process preferred.
  4. Able to participate with cross-functional initiatives and collaborate amongst numerous partnerships.
  5. Good written and oral communication skills.
  6. High professional and ethical standards in the application of accounting principles and government regulations.
  7. Ability to be a part of a team of motivated professionals, and to handle multiple tasks.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepare and record journal entries and maintain accurate ledger accounts.
  2. Prepare GAAP and STAT investment accounting entries and supporting schedules.
  3. Support quarterly and annual financial reporting, audits, and regulatory examinations.
  4. Research investment transactions and document accounting conclusions.
  5. Ensure compliance with insurance accounting guidance and company investment policies.
