Commercial Lines Account Manager - Independent Insurance Agency - Base Salary to 80k/year - York, PA

  • Our client, a well-established independent insurance agency in the York, PA area, is seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager to support and service a book of large, complex commercial insurance accounts. This position works closely with producers, carriers, and clients to manage renewals, policy servicing, certificates, and account documentation across a variety of industries including manufacturing, construction, nonprofit, professional services, and cyber liability.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial insurance professional seeking a long-term role with a stable agency offering a collaborative environment, hybrid flexibility, and exposure to complex middle-market accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Service a book of commercial insurance accounts consisting of manufacturing, construction, nonprofit, cyber liability, professional liability (E&O), and other middle-market commercial clients
  • Prepare certificates of insurance (COIs), evidence of property forms, auto ID cards, binders, E&S affidavits, and related policy documentation
  • Process policy changes, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and audits
  • Develop and prepare client-ready renewal strategies and renewal proposals
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers and underwriters regarding coverage, renewals, policy changes, and account servicing needs
  • Review policies and coverage details for accuracy prior to binding and issuance
  • Finalize and document bound coverage for new and renewal business
  • Maintain accurate client records and policy documentation within the agency management system
  • Provide day-to-day account servicing and respond to client coverage questions and requests

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of commercial insurance experience within an independent insurance agency, insurance brokerage, or carrier environment
  • Active Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance license
  • Experience servicing commercial lines accounts and processing renewals, endorsements, certificates of insurance, and policy documentation
  • Experience supporting middle-market or complex commercial insurance accounts
  • Working knowledge of commercial insurance coverages including general liability, commercial property, workers compensation, commercial auto, professional liability, cyber liability, and excess liability
  • Experience working directly with insurance carriers and underwriting teams
  • Proficiency with agency management systems and Microsoft Office

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 65k – 80k/year range
  • Full benefits package including health insurance and year-end profit-sharing bonus
