About the Role:

The Manager, Transportation is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of raw materials and finished goods across KINA's manufacturing and distribution network. The role leads transportation planning, manages inbound and outbound freight operations, and partners with key stakeholders to ensure service performance, cost control, compliance, and continuous improvement across logistics operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead inbound and outbound transportation operations across all KINA locations.
  • Develop and execute transportation strategies that improve service, cost, utilization, and delivery performance.
  • Manage carrier selection, contract administration, rate negotiations, and carrier performance.
  • Ensure timely delivery of products to customers, distribution centers, and project sites.
  • Align transportation planning with production schedules, warehouse capacity, inventory flow, and customer demand.
  • Monitor freight spend, budgets, and cost drivers; identify and implement savings opportunities.
  • Track and improve key transportation metrics, including on-time delivery, load optimization, damage rates, lead times, and freight cost per unit.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety requirements, environmental standards, and internal policies.
  • Resolve freight claims, delivery issues, service failures, and corrective actions in partnership with carriers and internal stakeholders.
  • Support network design, route optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Leverage transportation management systems, reporting tools, and data analytics to improve visibility and decision-making.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the transportation team while promoting a high-performance, customer-focused culture.

Qualifications

Education:

* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in the transportation or logistics industry
  • Minimum three (3) years of leadership/management experience
  • Experience managing transportation budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems, ERP systems, or other logistics software

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn and understand, the building and construction industry
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn and utilize, ERP systems such as SAP and TMS
  • Ability to communicate effectively throughout the organization
  • Ability to make quick, thorough decisions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
