Job SummaryTYLin is seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer to join our MEPIC Team. The Senior I&C Engineer will be responsible for design of instrumentation and control systems and light system integration in water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations and reservoir facilities.Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Provide instrumentation and control system design services in water and wastewater treatment plant facilities, pump stations and lift stations. Provide office services during construction for related projects.
  • Provide programming and integration services in conjunction with controls modifications and upgrades - add control points to existing SCADA systems, provide minor modifications to existing SCADA programming and HMI systems as required, including full station programming for process control facilities.
  • Provide troubleshooting services as required to assist clients with equipment and control issues.
  • Witness test factory tests of process control systems.
  • Witness and troubleshoot field tests of process control systems.
  • Prepare plans, specifications and cost opinions for design projects.
  • Perform field data collection in conjunction with design projects.
  • Prepare studies such as condition assessments and feasibility studies.
  • Conduct client training sessions as required by projects.

Education:BS degree in Electrical and Mechanical; Masters' degree in Controls Theory a plus.

Experience:Minimum10-15 years of relevant experience in industrial engineering consulting performing design and construction services or controls integration; water and wastewater experience is preferred.

Certifications and Licenses:PE is required.

The candidate must have good working knowledge of the following:

  • Application of Instrumentation for flow, temperature, pressure, position and level monitoring, including :
    • magnetic flow meters
    • Ultrasonic and radar based detection instruments
    • Gas monitoring and air quality instruments
    • Pressure monitoring instrumentation
    • Analytical instruments including pH, Turbidity, ORP, suspended solids, chlorine.
  • Development of detailed P&ID diagrams for complex process systems.
  • Design of PLC based control systems implementation
  • Design of DCS based control systems implementation
  • Design of Control System networks and telemetry for instrumentation signals
  • Design of network systems
  • Application of communications protocols and networks
  • Documented experience of PLC programming for Rockwell, Siemens, Modicon, or General Electric processors
  • Documented experience of HMI programming in one or more of the following : WonderWare, IFIX, RS View, Intellution.
