Job description

SALARY RANGE - This position pays $17.00/hour plus a commission per class. The fitness instructor is responsible for accurately assessing clients at the start of their journey, compiling reports, and developing their fitness levels.
Essential Functions
  • Must adhere to the company's Service culture - 4 Keys to creating guests for life.
  • Must actively participate in team member referral program and be a Talent Ambassador for Silverado Resort.
  • Must participate in all resort required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform/business attire and nametag.
  • Create classes and programs for various fitness levels.
  • Hygiene is key in this environment due to the close proximity of working with the clients. At no time is cigarette smoke allowed to be on the hands, clothes, or breath of a spa employee during a shift
  • Support the development and delivery of fitness programs.
  • Assist members in reaching individual goals.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving the goals of the organization.
  • Ensure the safety of clients during training sessions.
  • Conduct an initial assessment of clients' body measurements.
  • Teach scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provide adequate warm-up, exercises, stretching, and cool down.
  • Teach the correct fitness methods depending on the class offered.
  • Plan classes around the skill levels of the participants.
  • Make sure that the classroom and equipment are in working order.
  • Lead fitness classes in exercises and/or instruct personal training clients.
  • Encourage participants to continue with exercises and make healthy choices.
  • Enforce all fitness facility policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Participate in regular in-service training sessions.
  • Complete records and reports as needed.
  • Keep management informed of customer and facility needs.
  • Abide by all resort policies and safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications
  • 1-year experience in a related field preferred.
  • Fitness Instructor certification is required.

Working Conditions and Schedule
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Must be able to stand and work for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop or reach as needed.
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor environment with varying temperatures, including temperatures above 100° F.
  • Expect daily physical exertion.
