About the Role

Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, is seeking a certified and engaging EnhanceFitness Instructor to lead evidencebased group fitness classes for older adults. EnhanceFitness is a nationally recognized program designed to improve strength, balance, flexibility, and overall functional fitness in a safe, supportive environment.

These opportunities are for onsite, inperson instruction only.

This yearround, parttime role is ideal for an instructor who is passionate about healthy aging, functional movement, and building community through wellness programming.

Instructor EnhanceFitness duties and responsibilities include:

  • Lead EnhanceFitness classes following the approved curriculum and safety guidelines.

  • Guide participants through structured warmups, strength training, balance work, and stretching.

  • Offer modifications to support participants with varying mobility and fitness levels.

  • Monitor participant safety, form, and engagement throughout each class.

  • Complete required program documentation, including attendance and progress tracking.

  • Manage class setup and cleanup.


Instructor EnhanceFitness requirements include:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Current EnhanceFitness Instructor certification (or willingness to obtain certification).

  • Experience teaching group fitness or working with older adults strongly preferred.

  • Strong communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive class environment.
