Job description

Description Department: Administration Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Union/Management: N/A Full-Time/Part-Time/Seasonal: Seasonal, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 1:00pm Salary: $25,600 Reporting to the Program Director, the Social Service Technician is responsible for providing thorough assessments and comprehensive case management for community participants who have court involvement in Jersey City Municipal Court. Examples of Duties Job Duties: Providing comprehensive case management for individuals seeking court navigation assistance through community outreach events in order to address issues impacting their legal matters such as substance abuse, employment, health, family and housing; Attending weekly off-site community events to provide court information assistance and engage community members on JCCS services; Conducting screening and tracking of court user-participants to improve program outcomes; Providing assessment of service and treatment needs; Managing intake procedures, ensuring that court users are engaged, processed and assigned, and receiving appropriate and needed services; Working with local community-based organizations to arrange for placements of defendants mandated to off-site services; Maintaining participant records and files; Managing and monitoring compliance with court appointed social service mandates; Preparing and providing updates to the court on client progress with detailed case information; Attending regular off-site community events to provide court information assistance and engage community members on JCCS services; Serving as an intermediary between court, community services, and court-based social services. Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Required Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in social services discipline (psychology, social work) Required Experience: Two years of experience in the field of social services is preferred (ie.

mental health, substance abuse treatment) preferred Supplemental Information This is a Civil Service Job and you must eventually pass and qualify for the applicable Civil Service title.
