Status: Regular Part Time

Hours: Up to 24 hours/week

Home Campus: Fennell (hybrid work arrangements available)

Rate of Pay: 17.60 per hour, plus 6% in lieu of vacation

Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment, the Events Assistant will support the domestic recruitment team in the planning and delivery of recruitment events, including pre-event coordination, on-site execution, and post-event reconciliation and evaluation.

This position requires flexibility in scheduling, as the on-campus days may need to change based on events and recruitment activities.

What you'll be doing:

Provides key administrative support to the recruitment team through:

  • Maintaining office supplies and inventory of event materials and promotional items.
  • Monitoring the recruitment events email account, responding to routine inquiries, and directing requests to appropriate team members as required.
  • Tracking event attendance for planning, evaluation, and follow-up purposes, including maintaining registration lists.
  • Maintaining event records and completing data entry related to registrations, attendance tracking, evaluations, and post-event reconciliation, including maintaining and updating event action items.

Assist in the planning and execution of campus tours, Open House, Discover Days, and other recruitment initiatives by:

  • Supporting event logistics before, during, and after events, including venue preparation, floor plans, set-up and tear-down activities.
  • Organizing event materials, supplies, signage, and promotional items to ensure event readiness.
  • Connecting with internal departments, external partners, vendors, and event participants to support successful event delivery.
  • Providing on-site event support, including attendee registration, wayfinding, troubleshooting, and participant engagement.
  • Assisting with the preparation and distribution of recruitment materials, presentations, and event resources.
  • Supporting campus tours and recruitment events by creating welcoming and informative experiences for prospective students and their supporters.

As a member of the Registrar's Office, support for larger college events such as startup and convocation may be required.

Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • 1 year certificate in business or event planning.
  • 2 years of experience with Special Events at a Post Secondary institution.
  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
  • The ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students, employees, and communities.
