Job description

Assist with fitness and exercise programs for the community and employees. Perform consultations for Conditioning Club. Perform/lead exercise classes. Orient new clients to Conditioning Club equipment. Oversee the Conditioning Club and Pool. Perform clerical tasks assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Exercise Science or related field from a four-year college or university.

Skills: Exceed the expectations of members, prospects, employees, affiliates, and peers by maintaining focus on service as the primary objective.

  2. Certification in aquatic life-saving procedure.
  3. CPR Certified 
  4. Training in First Aid techniques, aerobic certification (applicant must either have or be capable of obtaining).
  5. Ability to communicate and counsel well with individuals and/or groups. 
  6. Skilled in the safe and proper use of machine weights, free weights and cardiovascular equipment. 
  7. Excellent customer service skills, energetic, enthusiastic and motivational. 
  8. Must be willing to work a varied schedule to include some early morning, evening and weekend hours.

B. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting while on duty. Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required. Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast paced environment. Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests. Physical conditions are clean, neat and well lit. Maybe subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations and hazardous or infectious agents where judgment as to precautions need to be taken is essential. Climate control an ambient temperature variance may be experienced. Exposure to limited amounts of hazardous chemicals or substances and infectious disease processes are a possibility. Hours of duty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to emergency circumstances. Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply. Personal protective equipment is made available and must be worn.
