Job Summary
ASN Program Adjunct Instructor
Adjunct faculty members are employed to provide specific courses on an as-needed basis. Contracts for adjunct faculty members are issued on a semester/term basis. Adjunct Instructors hold the responsibility for the courses taught. Adjunct Instructors are expected to be available for a reasonable amount of time for each course taught to counsel students regarding course work. Adjunct Instructors may teach no more than 8 semester hours per semester.

Minimum Qualifications
1. BSN or ASN degree with 10 years of nursing experience.
2. An active, unencumbered Alabama registered nurse license, or a multistate registered nurse license issued by a party state.
3. Academic and experiential qualifications to teach in the area assigned.
4. A minimum of two years of employment as a registered nurse.
Preferred Qualifications
1. BSN degree or higher.
2. Previous teaching experience in a nursing program.
