Location: Remote - Thousand Oaks, CA (Any U.S. timezone accepted)

Employment Type: Contingent Worker (Contract, W2)

Contract Length: 8 months (possible extension)

Compensation: $69/$77 per hour (based on experience)


Summary of the Role

Join a fast-paced project as an experienced Instructional Designer supporting high-quality e-learning development for a large biotech pharmaceutical leader. You will drive the design, development, and implementation of engaging instructional materials in collaboration with subject matter experts. Your work ensures enhanced comprehension, compliance, and inspection readiness across the organization's Quality Management Systems via the corporate Learning Management System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate virtually with subject matter experts to create online instructional materials focused on Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Design and revise storyboards, simulations, and multimedia to enrich online learning
  • Ensure alignment of content with learning objectives and best practices for online education
  • Manage project timelines and coordinate with cross-functional teams for timely course delivery
  • Engage in virtual meetings and one-on-one discussions to meet project objectives
  • Work effectively with a team of instructional designers on projects with evolving needs
Required Experience & Skills
  • Minimum of 7 years' instructional design experience focused on interactive e-learning content
  • Mastery of Articulate Rise & Storyline, Captivate, and Adobe Illustrator
  • Exceptional communication and project management skills in a cross-functional environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop training content for highly regulated industries
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or related field
  • Prior experience with biotech, pharmaceutical, GxP, or other highly regulated environments

1. 7+ years of instructional design experience

2. Mastery of Articulate Rise & Storyline, Captivate, and Adobe Illustrator

3. Strong project management and communication skills

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Act as an individual contributor designing, developing, and implementing high-quality instructional materials. Create engaging content in collaboration with subject matter experts to drive learning outcomes, enhance compliance, and support inspection readiness via the Learning Management System. Work closely with content experts and other instructional designers in a virtual team environment.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years of instructional design experience
