The Senior Project Manager oversees project personnel and processes across construction and audio-visual (AV) installation projects, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and within budget while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires hands-on leadership of key construction and AV initiatives, coordination of multiple trades and technical subcontractors, and fostering cross-functional collaboration to address complex challenges throughout the project lifecycle.

A Senior Project Manager oversees project personnel and processes for construction and AV installation projects to ensure projects are executed efficiently and within budget, while upholding safety and quality standards. This role is also accountable for ensuring compliance with customer expectations, statutory and regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop project schedules in conjunction with the customerโ€™s requirements and approve overtime as necessary to meet project schedules.

Oversee and supervises all functions of order management including order entry for required materials, ensuring components are ordered and delivered for projects on time, creates purchase orders for installation subcontractors.

Coordinates and ensures prompt resolution of any project problems; assures that the project is completed on time and on budget.

Performs other project duties as required:

  • Manage 35-45 projects on average.
  • Oversees projects that are valued between $1.5 million and $3 million.
  • Maintains 70% or above utilization for Sr. PM.
  • Manages project budget and reports on project health on bi-weekly calls and monthly percent complete meetings.
  • Regular communication with internal team members, channel partners, and customers
  • Addresses and manages project escalations in a timely manner according to escalation path.
  • Manage large construction projects, showing ability to manage multiple trades.
  • Manage AV integration and installation projects, coordinating with technical teams to ensure systems are designed, installed, and commissioned to specification.
  • Manages projects with high-level customers.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports directly to the Director of Project Services. Responsibilities include coordinating activities with engineering, purchasing, sales, customer service, distribution, authorized partners, technicians, and additional departments as required. The role also involves supervising all personnel assigned to specific projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelorโ€™s degree in business or communications is preferred. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with people are essential. Good leadership skills are needed. At least 5 yearsโ€™ experience with project management is required, including experience managing construction projects and audio-visual (AV) installation projects. Desire someone with a high attention to detail and extreme sense of urgency.

Project management certification (e.g., PMP) and CTS are highly desirable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Strong oral communication with management and co-workers is essential, as is regular use of phone and email. Extended periods of standing or sitting are typical. Normal hearing and vision are needed for discussions and reviewing plans and drawings.

Occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. may be required, and good manual dexterity is necessary for handling office equipment and measuring tools. The ability to read architectural or engineering plans, and interpret financial and legal documents, is important. After-hours calls may be needed during project installations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job is performed indoors in a variety of settings, including the office, construction sites, and warehouse. Occasional travel can be required to project locations.
