Job description

Job Summary:
The Installation/Service Technician is responsible for installing and troubleshooting fiber to the home and any service changes. This position is also responsible for the customer's setup of equipment such as modems and routers, and basic plant maintenance.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Installation of fiber to the home services, along with troubleshooting impairments
  • Perform site surveys
  • Be able to read system maps, designs, and symbols
  • Provide excellent customer service to new and existing customers
  • Work in confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics
  • Work in high places such as on roofs, poles, or ladders
  • Maintain accurate inventory of company property in your care (e.g. modems, routers, tools, etc.)
  • Track and complete work as assigned through company's CRM
  • Other duties/responsibilities as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol screening
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and problem solve issues related to fiber to the home impairments.
  • Must be able to work overtime
  • Excellent communication and customer interaction skills, as well as working together as a team.
  • Ability to work unsupervised, as well as self-motivation

Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver's license

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged bending, twisting, standing, and reaching
  • Carry, climb, extension ladders,
  • Use hand tools such as drills, hammers, wrenches, and screwdrivers, shovel
  • Work outside for extended periods in any season and/or during inclement weather
  • Must Be able to walk, bend and lift while carrying up to 75 pounds
