Job description

The North America team is currently looking for a Maintenance Technician on 2nd shift to join our Taylorville, IL facility.
The Maintenance Technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and optimizes a wide range of production and facilities equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role supports CNC press brakes, lasers, punch presses, extrusion equipment, and other highly automated machinery, as well as plant utilities and building systems. Work spans mechanical, electrical, electronic controls, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with hands-on involvement in gearboxes, drivetrains, and machinery rigging. Prior experience with welding, plumbing, and HVAC is strongly desired.
Your Impact
  • Perform corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on CNCs, PLC-controlled systems, electronic control systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, gearboxes, drivetrains, conveyors, and automation cells.
  • Diagnose faults using electrical/mechanical schematics, ladder logic, I/O mapping, HMI diagnostics, and precision measurement tools.
  • Install, align, and commission new or relocated machinery; execute machinery rigging, leveling, anchoring, and guarding.
  • Maintain CNC press brakes, lasers, punch presses, and extrusion equipment.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, sensors, actuators, safety relays, e-stops, and control panels.
  • Perform wiring and modifications per NFPA 70/NEC standards.
  • Service pumps, valves, cylinders, accumulators, FRLs, regulators, and manifolds.
  • Rebuild/replace bearings, seals, belts, couplings, chains/sprockets, ball screws, and linear guides.
  • Support HVAC, plumbing, lighting, doors/docks, compressed air, and general building systems.
  • Perform basic MIG/TIG/Stick welding and light fabrication.
  • Complete work orders and PMs.
  • Recommend improvements to reduce downtime.
  • Follow LOTO, machine guarding, PPE, and confined-space procedures.

Your Experience and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Technical certificate or AAS preferred.
  • 3+ years industrial maintenance experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision with a high level of initiative.
  • Manages time effectively and remains organized.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Able to read schematics and technical manuals.
  • Experience with industrial lifting equipment.
  • Welding/fabrication skills.
  • Basic plumbing and HVAC maintenance.
  • PLC/HMI troubleshooting.
  • Predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, climb, kneel, and work in various industrial conditions.

Your Compensation and Benefits
  • Expected total compensation for this role will be $20.24 to $42.86 per hour, depending upon job related knowledge, experience, and skills, plus $3.00 shift differential.
  • Up to 5% bonus potential.

Your Workplace
You will be working onsite role based in Taylorville, IL.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works with or near to moving trucks, trailers and fork trucks and near large machinery and equipment daily. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions including temperatures ranging from 40ยฐF to 105ยฐF.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands or arms. The employee must be able to stand for up to twelve hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The employee must wear personal protective equipment (i.e. eye protection, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, sleeves, etc.)
