About the Role:
J & J Air is seeking a skilled HVAC Installation Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, working with a lead installer. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The HVAC Installation Assistant will ensure that all systems are installed correctly and function efficiently to meet client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist lead technicians in the installation of HVAC systems and components
  • Install HVAC systems according to manufacturer specifications and local codes
  • Build comfort systems by installing air handlers, condensing units, package equipment, duct work, and refrigerant tubing
  • Complete high and low voltage power connections
  • Perform system start-up and commissioning, including verifying refrigerant charge, cfm settings and temperature difference
  • Collaborate with a lead installer to complete installations in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records and service orders of work performed and materials used
  • Keep tools and company vehicle maintained by following being organized and proactive
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during all installations
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding system operation and maintenance requirements

Requirements:
  • 2 years experience in HVAC installation preferred
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment, operate tools and equipment safely and effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced installers and managers
  • Familiarity with mechanics, appliance repair, field service, property maintenance, welding, or boiler systems is advantageous

Schedule:
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Typical hours 7am-4pm

Supplemental pay types:
