Job description

Job Overview:
Telepath Corporation is seeking a full-time Vehicle Installer Technician to support the installation, integration, and service of mobile communication and electronic systems within fleet and specialty vehicles. This role is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in 12V electrical systems, emergency vehicle outfitting, and mobile technology integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform partial to full disassembly of vehicle interiors and exteriors, including removal of seats, trim panels, dashboards, headliners, flooring, and lighting assemblies to facilitate equipment installation.
  • Assist with the installation and routing of low-voltage (12V) electrical systems, including power distribution, grounding, and ignition-controlled circuits.
  • Install, terminate, and secure wiring harnesses using industry-standard methods (crimping, soldering, heat shrinking, loom routing, and cable management).
  • Drill, mount, and secure components such as radios, antennas, control heads, lighting systems, and auxiliary equipment in accordance with installation standards.
  • Integrate communication systems, including mobile radios, antennas, and related hardware; verify performance using basic test equipment where applicable.
  • Support installation across multiple vehicle platforms, including sedans, SUVs, commercial trucks, buses, motorcycles, and specialty units.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and system integration issues, including power faults, grounding issues, and signal interference.
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and rework on faulty installations or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Maintain installation quality, safety standards, and proper documentation of work performed.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required)
  • Ability to pass a background check (required)
  • Must own basic hand tools (required)
  • Foundational knowledge of 12V DC electrical systems (preferred)
  • Experience with vehicle electronics, mobile radio systems, or car audio installation (preferred)
  • Familiarity with wiring schematics, multimeter usage, and basic electrical diagnostics (preferred)
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use power tools (required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
