Job description

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Elevator Technician. This position will install and/or service emergency phone equipment for our customers in the area market. The person in this position will work independently in the field, complete a daily assigned route, and maintain the inventory and tools on their truck. The Technician will communicate regularly with customers, field supervisors, installation coordinators, sales team members, and other stakeholders in order to gauge the scope of work and provide the full service on the first visit to the customer. The person in this position will be adaptable to work within the demands of changes in routes and work plans as needed. This position serves as the face of our company to new customers, and will need to provide quality customer service, as well as problem solving, troubleshooting, and accurate and complete work.
Requirements:
  • Two yearsโ€™ experience installing and/or repairing elevator telephone and emergency telephone equipment
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must hold current and valid Elevator Mechanic License
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to customers, supervisors, teammates, and installation coordinators, and other teams
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to schedule work and coordinate with customers
  • Ability to manage installation projects and complete in a timely manner
  • Technical fluency to work on a laptop or tablet and process electronic work orders
  • Ability to track and maintain tools and inventory counts on truck
  • High attention to detail and quality
  • Professional appearance
  • Ability to travel throughout the area, different sites, cities, or states as needed
  • Overnight travel as needed
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen
Physical Requirements:
  • Kneeling several times a day - up to 10 minutes at a time
  • Squatting repeatedly - 5-10 min at a time
  • Walking โ€“ an average of 2 miles a day
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed
  • Reaching and working over your head for 3 to 5 min at a time
  • Able to carry, climb, and perform work on a 6-foot ladder
  • Able to work outside in heat, or cold, or inclement weather for periods of time throughout the day
