What is the highest paying apprenticeship?

The highest paying apprenticeships are often in skilled trades such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC installation, where apprentices can earn higher wages as they gain experience and certifications. Earnings can vary based on location, industry, and the level of certification achieved during the apprenticeship.

What are Install Apprentices?

Install Apprentices are entry-level workers who assist experienced installers in setting up, repairing, or maintaining equipment, systems, or building components. They typically work under the guidance of a journeyman or lead installer, learning the trade through hands-on experience while also receiving some classroom instruction. The role is common in industries such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or construction. As apprentices, they gradually take on more responsibility as their skills and knowledge increase. This position is ideal for those seeking to start a career in the skilled trades.

What are some common challenges faced by Install Apprentices during their training period?

Install Apprentices often encounter challenges such as adapting to physically demanding work, mastering the use of various tools and equipment, and learning to follow detailed installation procedures accurately. Working in different environments—sometimes outdoors or in tight spaces—requires flexibility and strong problem-solving skills. Additionally, apprentices must quickly develop effective communication and teamwork habits, as they frequently collaborate with experienced installers and other tradespeople to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Install Apprentice, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Install Apprentice, you need a basic understanding of mechanical systems, hand and power tool proficiency, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with installation-specific tools, safety protocols, and sometimes OSHA certification is important. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn help apprentices excel and adapt on the job. These skills ensure safe, accurate installations and set the foundation for advancement in technical trades.

What is the $5000 apprenticeship incentive?

The $5000 apprenticeship incentive is a financial benefit offered to individuals enrolled in an apprenticeship program, such as an Install Apprentice, to encourage participation and support their training costs. It is typically provided by government or industry organizations and may be paid in installments upon completing certain milestones or requirements during the apprenticeship. This incentive helps offset expenses related to gaining skills and certifications in the trade.

Elite Fireplace & Dryer Vent Services is a growing company specializing in fireplace repair, chimney repair, masonry restoration, dryer vent services, and fireplace diagnostics. We take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship, maintaining strong customer relationships, and providing a safe and professional work environment for our team.

As we continue to grow, we are committed to finding people who share those values and want to be part of a team that genuinely enjoys working together and helping each other succeed.

Position Overview

We are seeking someone with construction experience who is interested in learning a specialized trade and building a long-term career. The ideal candidate has experience in construction, masonry, mechanical repair, roofing, HVAC, or a related field and enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and learning new skills.

This position begins with a structured apprenticeship program where you will work alongside experienced technicians to learn fireplace repair, masonry restoration, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and installation. As your skills develop, you will transition into a Lead Repair Technician role with opportunities for increased responsibility, leadership, and performance-based compensation.

Why Join Elite?

  • Learn a specialized trade with long-term career potential
  • Join a team that values respect, honesty, communication, and accountability
  • Work alongside experienced professionals who are invested in your success
  • Build skills that are in high demand and difficult to replace
  • Be part of a growing company where advancement opportunities are real, not just promised

Responsibilities

  • Assist with masonry fireplace and chimney repairs
  • Perform demolition, rebuilding, and restoration work
  • Learn to diagnose and repair gas fireplace systems
  • Install and replace fireplace components and inserts
  • Repair and replace dryer vent systems
  • Troubleshoot technical and structural issues
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship and professionalism
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members
  • Follow all company safety procedures and industry standards

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive starting pay of $20-$25 per hour for candidates entering the trade, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Candidates with directly related fireplace, chimney, masonry, construction, or specialty trade experience may be eligible for higher starting compensation based on skill level and experience
  • Paid apprenticeship and hands-on training
  • Performance-based bonuses and commission opportunities
  • Health insurance contribution
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid vacation and paid holidays
  • Company vehicle provided for qualified technicians
  • Company-provided tools and equipment
  • Ongoing opportunities for advancement and increased earning potential
  • Stable, year-round employment with a growing company

As you progress through the apprenticeship program and develop your technical skills, responsibilities, and leadership abilities, your earning potential will continue to grow. Lead Repair Technicians who successfully complete training and excel in the role have the opportunity to earn $100,000+ annually through a combination of hourly pay, performance incentives, and commission opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Construction experience required
  • Masonry experience preferred but not required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 80-100 lbs
  • Comfortable working on ladders and roofs
  • High school diploma or GED

Who Will Succeed in This Role

The people who thrive on our team are dependable, self-motivated, and take pride in their work. They communicate well, take ownership of problems, and are committed to producing quality results.

Just as important as technical ability is character. We are looking for someone who is respectful, honest, accountable, and works well with others. Skills can be taught; attitude, work ethic, and integrity cannot.

If you're looking for a long-term career with opportunities for growth, training, and advancement--and you want to be part of a team that values craftsmanship, professionalism, and doing things the right way--we'd like to hear from you.
