Job description

Two High-Quality Hospital Sites | Surgicalist Model | Growing Program | Flexible Scheduling

Inspira Health is expanding its Synergy Surgicalist Program and seeking Orthopedic Surgicalists to support coverage at both Mullica Hill and Vineland. This program was created to improve response times for unassigned orthopedic patients and to work in partnership with Premier Orthopedics and resident teams at both campuses.

These assignments are ideal for surgeons who appreciate a collaborative, well-supported clinical environment with modern facilities and predictable workflows.

Current Coverage Needs

Mullica Hill – Confirmed Dates

You may submit availability for any of the following dates:

  • January 26–30
  • February 2–4
  • March 12
  • March 16–19
  • March 23–24

Vineland – Dates Pending

  • Coverage will also be needed at Inspira Vineland
  • Specific dates TBD / awaiting final schedule from the facility
  • Open to early submissions from surgicalists interested in both sites

Role Summary

  • Provide orthopedic surgicalist coverage
  • Collaborate with Premier Orthopedics (10-surgeon group) and inpatient teams
  • Manage unassigned orthopedic consults and trauma cases appropriate for the facility
  • 30-minute call response time
  • Participate in clinic ½-day sessions (Tues/Fri), located 5 minutes from each hospital
  • Work closely with ED teams, ortho residents, and midlevel’s
  • Cerner EMR (Epic go-live July 25, 2026) with remote training available

  • Opened 2019 | 210 beds
  • 8 ORs, expanding with a new surgical tower by 2027
  • 60-bed ED with ED residents
  • Ortho residents rotate through; strong partnership with Premier Orthopedics
  • Clinic: 5–8 min drive (Glassboro)
  • Typical ortho workflow:
    • Hip fractures admitted to hospitalist with ortho consult
    • Acetabular fractures transferred
    • ED manages reductions, taps, lac repairs, basic fractures
  • Pediatric cases transferred when appropriate (via Nemours partnership)

Inspira Vineland

  • 270-bed regional hospital
  • 10 ORs
  • Primary site for ortho residency (3 residents per year)
  • ED residents onsite
  • Clinic: 5 min from the hospital
  • Similar ortho workflow to Mullica Hill
  • Excellent site for surgeons who enjoy working closely with residents

Community & Patient Mix

  • Six-hospital hub-and-spoke system serving Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem Counties
  • High ED volume (~175k across the system)
  • Mix of adult ortho trauma, pediatrics, falls, ATV injuries, and community fractures
