Inside Sales Manager

FLSA STATUS/EXEMPTION

Non-Exempt

MISSION OF THE POSITION

The Inside Sales position is responsible for generating leads based on ACT’s target industry and/or demographic. This position will build relationships with new and existing customers to increase sales of ACT’s products and services. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all product and service orders and is responsible for providing exceptional service throughout the sales process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Customer Support

  1. Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
  2. Consult with customers via telephone, email, or in person to understand their needs/preferences related to ACT’s products and services.
  3. Provide information on product features and services, suggesting options suitable for the customers’ needs.
  4. Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates.
  5. Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials to ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
  6. Prepare and submit sales contracts for orders.
  7. Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
  8. Effectively communicate to customers any relevant policies and/or procedures regarding purchases, returns, credit terms, etc.
  9. Follow-up on customer orders, seek to resolve any issues that may arise with a customer order, and respond in a timely manner.
  10. Establish a strong phone presence by answering all phone calls within three (3) rings. Maintaining a friendly and professional communication style while assisting customers on the phone or in-person.
  11. Provide ongoing support to current and prospective customers by answering questions, resolving problems, and assisting with purchase decisions.
  12. Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate CSR for further development and closure.

Sales Administration

  1. Ensure employees view the open order report daily.
  2. Complete timesheets bi-weekly.
  3. Ensure all receiving is completed daily.
  4. Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team.
  5. Tracking sales goals and reporting results as necessary.
  6. Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, or in performing services for customers.
  7. Monitor sales activities to ensure that customers receive satisfactory service and quality goods.
  8. Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails.
  9. Assist the Customer Service Director with developing and executing sales strategies.
  10. Search catalogs and/or the computer system for the correct part to meet customers’ needs.
  11. Enter and manage customer orders, inventory information, and pricing.
  12. Inspect returns for condition and completeness; accepting those which meet eligibility criteria.
  13. Issue credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice is available, so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
  14. Review will-call and back-order parts weekly and return to vendors or stock items not picked up.
  15. Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit an emergency order, if necessary.
  16. Maintain customer accounts and records of customer interactions with details of inquiries, complaints, or comments.
  17. Retrieve and enter data such as customer orders, branch transfers, inventory information, and pricing in the computer system.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Stay informed and educated as to product inventory and applicability; continuously update your product knowledge through training workshops, industry events, and any other available resources.
  2. Manage the office and warehouse to ensure clean and safe environments.
  3. Perform all other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. This position does not include any supervisory responsibilities.

Proven experience in inside sales, customer service, or a related role

General knowledge of products to be sold as well as principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products

Strong sales acumen with the ability to identify customer needs, negotiate effectively, and close sales deals

Active listening skills with an ability to anticipate customers’ needs and build lasting relationships

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
