The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is responsible for driving sales growth by promoting BakeMark's products, programs, and services while building strong customer relationships. The ISR serves as a valuable resource to customers by identifying opportunities, providing solutions, and ensuring their day-to-day supply needs are met. This role supports the sales organization by prospecting for new business, generating and qualifying leads, analyzing sales data, supporting territory initiatives, and contributing to overall market growth. The ISR plays a key role in expanding market share, increasing customer retention, and delivering outstanding customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Achieve sales growth objectives and meet established revenue and profitability targets.
  • Support BakeMark's strategy to maintain and strengthen its leadership position within the baking industry.
  • Develop and grow sales of ingredients, supplies, and services through proactive customer engagement and relationship building.
  • Partner with the Outside Sales team to maximize territory performance and increase customer penetration.
  • Promote BakeMark's core product lines, including self-manufactured products, exclusive brands, gourmet ingredient programs, and company promotions.
  • Identify, prospect, and establish new customer accounts through various lead-generation methods, including online research, industry networking, business directories, referrals, and other available resources.
  • Qualify and nurture sales leads by conducting ongoing prospecting activities and uncovering opportunities within existing and prospective accounts.
  • Provide vacation and absence coverage for assigned territories by maintaining consistent customer contact, order management, and service levels.
  • Utilize sales reports, performance metrics, and market data to identify trends, track progress, and execute sales initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, and pipeline updates within company systems.
  • Attend sales meetings, training programs, trade shows, demonstrations, conventions, and other company-sponsored events as directed.
  • Successfully complete all required training programs, including BakeMark University, Rookie Training, and ongoing product knowledge development.
  • Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports to measure performance, ensure accountability, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional manner.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The Inside Sales Representative position is designed as a developmental pathway to an Outside Sales Representative role. Through hands-on training, sales experience, and professional development, ISRs gain the skills and knowledge necessary to transition into field sales positions. Eligible employees may qualify for commission, bonus, and incentive programs upon promotion, in accordance with company compensation plans.
