Summary:

To support the growth of Autocar, we are looking for Inside Sales Representatives to manage a broad spectrum of sales and marketing-related responsibilities.

Autocar's Inside Sales Team supports Autocar's revenue-generation activities from our Birmingham location. You will be the first point of contact for prospective customers and provide support to both end customers as well as Autocar Dealerships.

As a member of our team, you will support sales efforts directly by reaching out to prospective customers based on market and timing data and presenting the Autocar value proposition. Additionally, you will be responsible for the receipt, tracking, validation, and initial outreach for all leads generated from all Autocar's marketing efforts. After successful outreach, you will then be responsible for assigning and transitioning the lead to the appropriate outside sales team representative for conversion into a sales opportunity if appropriate, or to manage the sales process leading to an order (where the decision criteria is based on customer profile, deal size, and complexity). Finally, you will also provide support for both end customers and Autocar Dealerships throughout the sales process.

The ideal candidate is a person looking to enter a career in sales, looking to eventually progress into larger sales or sales management roles. Training will be provided to support this career development. This position requires a combination of customer-facing sales, cross-functional collaboration, and data management skills, as you will work closely with our data team to maintain and validate the accuracy of data across our application ecosystem.

  • >99% adherence on time-to-initial outreach and qualification for all marketing-generated leads, dispositioned in the CRM within 1 business day
  • >99% of marketing leads evaluated for quality and effectiveness, with results reviewed monthly with marketing team
  • Generate and manage internal leads that result in 200+ refuse unit sales annually
  • >99% compliance and accuracy in capturing all interactions in CRM
  • 95%+ of all assigned CRM tasks completed within assigned due date

Key Responsibilities:

Activated Lead Management

  • For inbound leads, receive the lead from the marketing team, and conduct initial outreach to customers within the approved SLA.
  • After successful outreach, and based on the customer profile, either 1) assign and transition the lead to the appropriate outside sales team representative, ensuring that the outside sales team has all necessary data needed to manage the lead, or 2) continue progressing the customer throughout the sales process to eventually lead to an order.
  • Conduct follow-ups with Marketing and Outside Sales teams to ensure that all leads are managed effectively with the goal of maximizing Autocar's market share.

Passive Lead Outreach and Inside Sales

  • Support outside sales teams in their goal of contacting every customer in the addressable market at least once per year, based on market and timing signals.
  • For prospective customers meeting the Inside Sales profile (defined by customer profile, deal size, and complexity), manage the sales process looking to eventually lead to an order.

Sales Support

  • Provide technical advice and support to dealers and Outside Sales teams with regards to sales systems of record.
  • For all outreach, ensure that the Autocar brand proposition is communicated effectively.

Data Capture

  • Ensure that all necessary information from communication activities is accurately and properly captured in systems of record (e.g., CRM, CPQ, etc.) for tracking, sales management, and support planning
  • Support the Sales Enablement team in the management and upkeep of system data

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Ability to work with a wide range of internal stakeholders to ensure customer interactions and relevant follow-ups are properly managed

Experience & Qualifications

  • Two-years related work experience
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College preferred
  • Customer-orientation
  • Proven ability to be an effective communicator
  • Must be detail-oriented, and can juggle competing priorities
  • General truck application knowledge: technical/ truck engineering background is a plus
  • Must have the ability to translate technical knowledge into practical truck use situations
  • Previous experience and understanding of CPQ, CRM, and/or CAD applications is a plus, but not required (e.g., Team Center Engineering, ADNET, Zoho)
  • Limited travel may be required
