Our team is seeking a Senior Vice President to join our Strategic Communications team in New York, NY or Washington DC to lead in crafting and executing cutting-edge communication strategies for clients ranging from corporate leaders to advocacy groups.

Client Management

  • Owns large client engagements (e.g. oversees relationship with clients and partners; runs and manages workstreams).
  • Leads the structured resolution of complex, high-stakes challenges across clients and internal teams (e.g. bringing clarity to ambiguity, balances strategic vision with executional detail, offers innovative approaches that challenge conventional thinking, and leverages deep knowledge of Precision's capabilities).
  • Follows Precision client management process. Ensures staff have the resources and support to exceed expectations and expand scopes. Ensures staff are delivering high quality work to clients. Keeps to the client budget.

Communications Specific

  • Content Creation: Drives the vision and execution of complex, multi-channel communications programs that influence perception and deliver measurable impact. Serves as a senior advisor to clients and internal teams, ensuring strategies are insight-driven, aligned with business objectives, and executed with excellence.
  • Media Engagement: Sets the vision for media strategy and reputation management. Serves as a trusted advisor to senior clients, driving integrated storytelling that advances business and brand objectives. Builds and maintains relationships with top-tier media and influence.
  • Strategic Messaging & Narrative Development: Sets the vision for message strategy and ensures alignment across clients and channels.

Collaboration & People Management

  • Orchestrates cross-functional integration across strategic communications, data, creative, and paid media to deliver work that advances client priorities. Works to align leadership and teams around a shared vision. Serves as a central point of coordination and clarityensuring transparency, consistency, and adaptability in internal communication as priorities evolve. Commits to build knowledge across teams and share best practices.
  • Keeps the internal team updated on changes and abreast of developments (e.g. leads productive internal meetings, clearly communicates deliverables and deadlines, brings in other teams when needed).
  • Leads and manages mid level staff through 1:1s, goal setting, feedback, and performance reviews; effectively manages teams during periods of change; fosters a high-morale, accountable culture; provides clear, constructive feedback across account teams; elevates issues to leadership.

Project & Time Management

  • Executes complex projects from end-to-end with limited guidance and high-quality outputs (e.g. anticipates shifts in client direction and scope; crafts clear work plans, delegates effectively, and oversees project budgets).

Strategy

  • Owns and advances the firm's content strategy across high-impact, multi-channel initiatives; sets the standard for strategic, compelling storytelling that drives client outcomes. Provides editorial leadership, developing frameworks, mentoring senior staff, and embedding a culture of excellence in content across the organization.
  • Shapes and drives an innovation culture across Precision; anticipates future challenges and market shifts to design transformative solutions; leverages deep cross-functional and industry expertise to create new opportunities and strategic advantages; aligns innovation efforts with Precision's long-term vision and full range of capabilities.

Business Development

  • Actively looks for new business opportunities within their network; lead pitches and presentations from brainstorm to delivery; drive organic growth by expanding client work and proposing new ideas; identifies ways to support firm marketing efforts.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in marketing communications, marketing performance analytics, digital media measurement (earned or owned), social media measurement, market research, or other related fields. Prior agency experience a strong plus.
  • Direct client management experience. Experience with large organizations and multiple stakeholders a plus.
  • Experience managing and guiding junior talent.
  • Experience working with multiple clients at the same time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Creative, energetic, and possesses an entrepreneurial spirit.

Salary range for this role is $170,000 200,000.
