Job description

Job Title: Commercial Account Manager

Reports to: Ownership

Location: Houston, TX

Compensation: Targeted at $70- 75k base salary plus commissions on new sales and enhancement sales, vehicle, cell phone, laptop, PTO.

Position Summary

  • Manage a book of commercial properties who receive landscape maintenance services from our company
  • Communicate with clients on various observations about their properties which will improve their properties.
  • Obtain contract renewals for continued service
  • Selling new maintenance accounts and enhancements.
  • Inspect properties for quality control and to make sure the company is meeting the contractual obligations
  • Daily management of crew and equipment

Account Management & Sales

  • Bidding and selling new maintenance accounts within the service area to grow existing book of business.
  • Make at minimum one site visit per Month to each account.
  • Set up monthly meeting onsite with your client accounts. Update site contacts monthly at minimum in regards to their service received.
  • Monitor irrigation on sites, adjust clocks if needed, report repairs needed.
  • Monitor health of turf, shrubs and trees on all accounts
  • Write up requested work orders as needed and provide proposal to client.
  • Recommend enhancements and provide proposals to clients to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Complete all paperwork daily, turn in receipts and billings.

Management of Crews and Equipment:

  • Ensure the coordination with Production Manager on various properties.
  • Escalate issues which require immediate attention and verify that it has been handled properly.
  • Report any major issues or problems with crews to Department Manager.
  • Monitor all accounts regularly for Quality Control.
  • Make sure equipment and vehicles needing repairs or service are written up and placed in Mechanics area.
  • Perform annual reviews.

Educational and Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Account Manager
  • Degree in horticulture, landscape management, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Experience and knowledge of irrigation systems, PNW plant identification, plant insect & disease diagnosis.
  • Spanish/English bilingual helpful but not required.
