Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager to support complex case management across a hospital system and community patients, requiring CA RN licensure and inpatient case management experience.
Job Details
• Supports complex cases across the health system, including patients in the community via virtual case management,
• Primarily virtual role with occasional float requirements between offices in San Francisco and Emeryville,
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM,
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:25,
• Uses Epic charting system,
Job Requirements
• Active CA RN license required,
• BLS certification required,
• Minimum 2 years of case management experience required,
• Inpatient case management experience required,
• Teaching hospital experience required,
• Community hospital experience required,
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred,
• Previous charge experience preferred,
• Experience with admission criteria, concurrent review, continued stay reviews, discharge planning, and utilization review,
• Familiarity with InterQual criteria, CMS guidelines, DRG, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards,
Additional Information
• Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, disease management, needs assessments, DME ordering, prior authorizations, and retrospective reviews,
• Role involves both case management and utilization review functions,
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local rate consideration,
• Maximum of 7 RTO days permitted per contract, with only one holiday request approved per contract,
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas,
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing,
• Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation to be eligible to return as a traveler,
• First-time travelers are not typically considered given the travel experience requirement
