Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients spanning from children to seniors, utilizing standardized assessments along with observational techniques.
  • Create tailored treatment strategies aimed at achieving immediate goals while addressing long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on communication skills, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functions.
  • Collaborate with a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to develop integrated care plans.
  • Provide education and guidance to patients and their families to support ongoing progress beyond clinical appointments.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring continual patient care throughout the recovery journey.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation following state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Stay updated on innovations in the field through continuous learning and collaborative efforts.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for all demographics, along with a profound understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Superior interpersonal communication skills with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
