Job Description:

The AI Solutions Engineer is a Full Time, Regular position working Monday-Friday day shift hours hybrid at the Inland Imaging Business Center downtown Spokane.

Summary: The AI Solutions Engineer will be responsible for the design, building development and deployment of GenAI-powered tools and agents across our business operations. Working closely alongside our Senior AI Solutions Engineer, this role will contribute hands-on coding, AI integration, and workflow automation efforts-helping the organization streamline internal processes and boost productivity and quality.

General Description: The AI Solutions Engineer must be able to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced office environment in meeting continual deadlines. The AI Solutions Engineer must be able to handle multiple priorities with constant interruptions. Organization is essential in order to meet deadlines. A sense of urgency, the ability to make good decisions, and the prioritization of tasks is necessary.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Builds and delivers AI agents and automation workflows tailored for medical imaging, business operations, and healthcare analytics, with limited supervision from the Senior AI Solutions Engineer.
  • Designs and develops integrations using REST API endpoints and third-party services.
  • Develops and refines generative AI models (e.g., large language models, diffusion models) and integrates emerging AI APIs (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT4, Google Gemini).
  • Deploys models within production environments across cloud-native and edge platforms, applying established patterns and contributing to design decisions.
  • Integrates AI-driven solutions with EMR/EHR systems, PACS, clinical workflows, and modern data infrastructure.
  • Participates in technical consulting activities, communicating AI capabilities to clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Integrates AI tools into existing business systems and processes.
  • Collaborates directly with process owners to understand task logic and data flows, translating requirements into working solutions.
  • Ensures security, data privacy, and human-in-the-loop review where needed.
  • Maintains and documents AI systems to support stability and reproducibility.
  • Applies clean coding standards and DevOps best practices.
  • Provides guidance and informal mentoring to the Junior AI Solutions Engineer, assisting with onboarding, code review, and knowledge transfer.
  • Other special projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in software engineering, AI, Data Science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience:
    • Four or more years of related experience required, including 3+ years Software Engineering or AI/MI development.
    • Demonstrated experience developing and deploying generative AI solutions using API's such as OpenAI, Anthropic or similar platforms.
    • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI).
    • Strong programming skills (Python required; JS, R or similar a plus).
    • Excellent communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to clinical and operational teams.
    • Willingness to travel ~10% to client sites and conferences.
    • Ability to work in a high energy, team environment.
  • Licensure: Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance, or the ability to access multiple worksites in a timely manner.
  • Computer Skills: Outlook; Microsoft Office Suite, Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Workday, Webex; Smartsheet, etc.
  • Drug Test: Eligible employees must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
