Job Description:
The Patient Access Registrar/Scheduler is a supplemental position that will fill in for vacation and sick calls based on department need at Inland Imaging Tri-Cities in Kennewick, WA. This position will be eligible for a 12% supplemental differential pay.
Summary: Patient Access Registrar/Schedulers are responsible for assisting patients and referring physicians and their staff in scheduling exams at an Inland Imaging Associates, LLC facility. The Patient Access / Scheduling department is generally the first contact with Inland Imaging Associates, LLC so the Patient Access Registrar/Scheduler must present a friendly, courteous and professional demeanor. Greets and welcome all patients and visitors presenting a friendly, courteous and professional image. Checks in patients with ordered exam, checks for previous films in RIS, collects patient payments, answers phones and ensures a smooth patient flow.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Provides high quality customer service by:
    • Listening to patients' and referring providers' requests for exams, times and locations
    • Asking the appropriate questions to get information needed to schedule exams
    • Relaying exam specific patient preparatory information as appropriate
    • Completes phone call with a professional closing
  • Schedules requested exams to maximize equipment utilization by time and location, review open slots
  • Ability to schedule, prep, and knowledge of all General, CT & MRI exams
  • Frequent interaction with Radiologist, Nurses, and Technologist
  • Communicates changes in the patient schedule, STATS, nurse requirements, add-ons, etc... to appropriate parties
  • Reviews next days assigned schedule to:
    • Maximize equipment utilization by time, location and specialty slot for MRI & CT
    • Account for changes in the MRI & CT physicians schedule
  • Calls patients to re-schedule exams as needed
  • Opens faxes from scheduling fax server sent in by referring providers and renames with standard nomenclature
  • Coordinates patient care between technologists and clerical staff to facilitate a smooth workflow
  • Acts as a liaison between staff, management and physicians
  • Provides high level of customer service by:
    • Greets and welcomes all patients and visitors
    • Ensures all patients are registered and "arrived"
    • Patients requiring assistance are provided assistance as needed
    • Keeps a clean work area to represent the professional image of Inland Imaging
  • Prepares paperwork for patient exams in advance, except add-ons, and give the paperwork to appropriate modality
  • Answer phones and assist callers
  • Initiates loans and generates reports as requested by referring provider offices
  • Burns patient exams and reports onto CD's to be given to patients and referring provider offices
  • Digitizes previous hard copy radiographic films to PACS system
  • Locates and obtains previous related imaging for upcoming appointments, and uploading to PACS.
  • Processes all the legal requests for Seattle locations.
  • Schedules Prostate fusion Endo rectal coil MRI's.
  • Fills in and helps with the Patient Care Coordinator duties.
  • Assists Technologists with injection procedures.
  • Requests prior-op reports to see if the device that was put in is safe for us to do the procedures.
  • Assists mammogram patients and escorts them to the changing room and exam room.
  • Processes patient payments.
  • Schedules walk-in patient exams
  • Rotates to other shifts and locations as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Follows all Health and Safety policies and guidelines of Inland Imaging or its partners depending on work location.
  • Performs other duties as required by displaying team spirit and self-growth, accepting and performing other projects and responsibilities, and requesting other projects and responsibilities.
  • Rotates to other shifts and locations as needed.
  • Attendance is required for this position.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED required
  • Experience: Two years previous clerical, scheduling or medical office experience required
    • Anatomy and medical terminology preferred.
    • Medical office experience preferred.
    • Understanding of all procedures to be read by radiologist preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Outlook; Workday; IDXterm; Flowcast; Web Portals
  • Background Check:
    • Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults
    • In order to comply with provisions set forth in Sections 1128 and 1156 of the Social Security Act, all new employees of Inland Imaging Clinical Associates, LLC will be checked against the LIST OF EXCLUDED INDIVIDUALS provided by the Department of Health & Human Services, Office of the Inspector General (OIG). Employees must not be included on this list.
  • Drug Test: Eligible employees must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
