Job description

NABRICO Marine is searching for safety-oriented Industrial Electrical Technicians in our Ashland City, TN barge plant.

NABRICO Marine Products, is part of NABRICOโ€™s Inland Barge Group, and is a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. NABRICO Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. NABRICO Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, NABRICO Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.

What you will do:

  • Use blueprints, schematics, small/power tools and electronic test equipment to perform a variety of maintenance tasks and determine causes of operating problems in areas including but not limited to plumbing, electrical systems/components, HVAC, carpentry, electrical fixtures/switches/power sources and mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
  • Lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify production electronic components, parts, switch panels, electronic equipment and systems ย 
  • Perform high voltage electrical repairs (e.g., controls, relays) ย 
  • Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipmentย 
  • Make electronic, mechanical, or electrical repairs on computer controlled equipment ย 
  • Perform PLC and/or CNC programmingย 
  • Troubleshoot electronically controlled production equipmentย 
  • Follow all safety rules and practices ย 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you will need:

  • More than 2 years of related high voltage (3 Phase 480V or higher) electrical experience ย 
  • Ability to understand principles of electricity/electrical control and understand general electrical schematics
  • Ability to trouble shoot and test all electrical applications ย ย 
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred
