Job description

NABRICO Marine Products is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Material Handler to join our team in Gallatin, TN. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, transporting, staging, loading, and unloading raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products throughout our manufacturing facility. This position plays a vital role in supporting production by ensuring materials are delivered safely, accurately, and efficiently to the appropriate work areas.

We are looking for individuals with experience in manufacturing, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or industrial environments who take pride in working safely, staying organized, and supporting a fast-paced production team.

In addition to manufacturing dry cargo and tank barges, NABRICO Marine Products is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers and produces a complete line of marine deck hardware, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.

What You'll Do
  • Safely transport raw materials, steel plate, pipe, fabricated components, and finished products throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and incoming deliveries while following established safety procedures.
  • Stage and deliver materials to welders, fitters, machine operators, and other production personnel to support manufacturing operations.
  • Verify materials are delivered to the correct location using work orders, material lists, or production schedules.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment as required.
  • Perform pre-shift inspections of material handling equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Assist with inventory organization, material identification, and maintaining accurate material flow throughout the facility.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in production and storage locations.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and production teams to prioritize material movement and minimize downtime.
  • Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and operating procedures.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in material handling, warehouse, shipping/receiving, manufacturing, or an industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or other material handling equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to safely load, unload, transport, and stage materials throughout a manufacturing facility.
  • Basic understanding of inventory practices, shipping documents, work orders, or material tracking is preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent attention to safety, organization, and productivity.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with heavier materials moved using mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to safely work around forklifts, overhead cranes, moving vehicles, suspended loads, welding operations, and heavy industrial machinery.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and outdoor conditions.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to support production demands. Overtime may include extended weekday hours, depending on business needs.
  • Ability to remain alert, make sound decisions, and safely work in a fast-paced production environment.
