A long-standing leader in dock equipment and custom fabrication solutions, this organization excels in design and application for all dock equipment products. It is also best rated for designing and building complex steel structures for diverse, commercial, and industrial clients, including manufacturing, construction, and logistics. Known for delivering high-quality solutions and fostering a collaborative work environment, they combine technical expertise with a commitment to customer satisfaction.
The Role 
Our client is seeking an experienced Outside Salesperson. This role will involve a mix of sales, customer relationship management, and project coordination with a defined territory in Indiana. The ideal candidate brings practical experience working with commercial door and dock systems, including overhead doors, dock levelers, dock seals and shelters, vehicle restraints, and other related loading dock equipment. They possess a strong understanding of the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of these products and the service requirements that support them. Regular travel within the greater Indianapolis metropolitan area and to customer locations throughout Indiana is required. The position offers a unique blend of customer interaction, sales, and project management, with the opportunity to grow and develop in a dynamic environment. 
The salary range is $55,000 – $70,000 and based on experience. You will also have access to a robust commission structure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Build and maintain relationships with prospects and customers through regular travel, calls, and meetings.  
  • Analyze opportunities to develop and nurture strong business relationships, promoting cross-selling of company products.  
  • Educate customers on the benefits of the company's products and services.  
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare estimates and bid packages.  
  • Solicit and compare vendor and subcontractor bids, collaborating with senior management to evaluate project fit, risks, and profit margins.  
  • Prepare accurate price quotes and proposals for new equipment, equipment upgrades, replacement parts, repairs, and preventive maintenance agreements
  • Manage customer expectations, project scopes, delivery, and installation by effectively communicating and collaborating with internal teams and vendors. 


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 

  • 7+ years of B2B sales experience in industrial equipment, construction, and warehouse projects.  A background in steel fabrication is a plus.
  • Proven ability to quote, present, and close sales. 
  • Technical proficiency in reading construction plans and steel drawings. 
  • Strong skills in Excel and PDF editing. 
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple quotes and orders simultaneously
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record. 
  • Self-starter with excellent time management, initiative, and conflict resolution skills.
