Job description

The Mold Setter / Assistant Supervisor is responsible for supporting shift production by setting and maintaining molds, as well as support equipment. The position works closely with other departments to ensure customers' demands are met at the highest level of quality. The Mold Setter provides back up and support to Production Supervisor.
Job Duties
  • Complete mold changes per production schedule following all checklist to ensure mold is properly set for operation
  • Follow the procedures to start up and shut down presses.
  • Ensure products meet the quality standard and make any necessary adjustments to the presses.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance of molds as assigned.
  • Follow all Safety Procedures including but not limited to: Lock Out / Tag Out, Crane Inspection, Housekeeping.
  • Complete all assigned documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Keep the press area, hose area, cabinet (storage) area, and mold table area clean and organized.
  • Inventory and order products to maintain sufficient levels to meet production requirements.
  • Perform supervisory duties that include paperwork and labor utilization. This does not include addressing any personnel issues beyond standard work assignments. Personnel issues must be directed to a Supervisor or Operations / Plant Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (ISO 9001).
  • This is not all inclusive and the employee will be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical /technical training a plus

Experience
  • 4+ years of mold setting experience in plastic injection molding

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Detail oriented with good mechanical aptitude who can troubleshoot issues and problems solve.
  • Cross-functional team player who can support supervisor in meeting production requirements and provide back up to other positions as needed.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Understanding of safety practices.
  • Ability to learn technical topics and procedures.
  • Must be flexible to work any shift and split shift for appropriate coverage.

Job Type: Full-Time - Non-Exempt
Pay: $26 - $30 per hour
