What is the difference between Infrastructure Testing vs Network Testing?
| Aspect | Infrastructure Testing | Network Testing |
|---|---|---|
| Focus | Evaluates hardware, servers, storage, and overall system infrastructure | Assesses network performance, security, and connectivity |
| Skills & Certifications | IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, certifications like CompTIA Server+ | Networking protocols, Cisco certifications, CCNA |
| Work Environment | Data centers, server rooms, cloud environments | Network operations centers, enterprise networks |
| Industry Usage | IT companies, data centers, cloud providers | Telecom, IT, cybersecurity firms |
While both roles involve testing within IT environments, Infrastructure Testing focuses on the overall hardware and system setup, whereas Network Testing concentrates specifically on network performance and security. Understanding these differences helps organizations ensure both their infrastructure and network are optimized and secure.
