Traffic Modeling or Missile Tracking System Engineer 

Hybrid in either Huntsville, Alabama; Scottsdale, Arizona; Grand Forks, North Dakota; Chantilly, Virginia 

Required: Secret Clearance

W2 Hourly Long-Term Contract to hire 

$50.00 - $73.25 per hour based on experience with limited benefits

Geologics is seeking a Traffic Modeling or Missile Tracking System Engineer to be responsible for developing and deploying state-of-the-art ground operational systems for the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA). You will be part of an elite team providing the evolution, expansion, integration, testing and maintenance of the ground entry points, operations centers, enterprise test and checkout capabilities and infrastructure management, including all development, systems engineering, integration, testing, maintenance, and site support.


Requirements and Qualifications

  • Department of Defense SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET with Polygraph eligibility is required at the time of hire. 
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 2- 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 1-3+ years of job-related experience. 
  • Recent experience with missile tracking systems design and architecture, and sensor fusion techniques
  • Recent experience designing logic, assessing and scheduling satellite services to track missiles
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and their application in system design and deployment
  • Experience with image processing (collection, handling, storing, and analysis)

Traffic Modeling Technical Skills

  • Prefer recent modeling of communication data, preferably using satellite constellations and ground networks
  • Prefer recent Satellite to Ground RF communication protocol experience, end to end packet prioritization and routing, or traffic modeling experience

Missile Tracking Technical Skills

  • Prefer recent designing and developing systems that can solve complex problems using algorithms
  • Prefer recent algorithm development and tuning for specific mission parameters

Key Responsibilities

 

Traffic Modeling 

  • Systems engineering that includes decomposing requirements into modeling of the traffic data flow from a satellite constellation to the ground network
  • Pre-planned or ad-hoc scheduling and satellite services to track missiles
  • Analysis of missile tracking data to validate the traffic model
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation

Missile Tracking

  • Systems engineering that includes decomposing requirements into architecture, internal and external interfaces, and system design behaviors
  • Pre-planned or ad-hoc scheduling and situational awareness of satellites and payloads capabilities to track missiles
  • Analysis and fusion of missile tracking data provided by satellite to the ground for processing and rapidly providing and disseminating the information
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
