Job description

The Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist is a core position that blends technical depth with strategic leadership. This role is responsible for constructing, maintaining, and protecting the organization's technological backbone. Beyond ensuring the stability of physical facilities and digital networks, the position is tasked with leading the IT department toward automation and ensuring that local operations remain in high alignment with the global strategies of the Taiwan Headquarters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Conduct a comprehensive audit and review of the existing IT infrastructure, including Data Center facilities, servers, storage, backup systems, networking, telecommunications, monitoring tools, and antivirus/security frameworks.
  • Perform gap analysis to identify pain points, bottlenecks, and vulnerabilities within the current environment.
  • Research and evaluate emerging IT technologies and market trends (such as AI-driven operations, hybrid cloud, and SD-WAN) to address identified issues.
  • Develop and present strategic infrastructure improvement roadmaps that enhance system reliability, performance, scalability, and security.
  • Track and report the progress of infrastructure projects, including office expansions, server upgrades, and AI integration initiatives.
  • Monitor IT Service Level Agreements (SLAs), including system uptime, network availability, incident response, and resolution metrics.
  • Document and analyze IT workload allocation and resource utilization.
  • Define and manage the IT infrastructure budget while ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of servers, networks, telecommunications, storage, cybersecurity, and related hardware.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of IT systems supporting business operations.
  • Implement best practices for infrastructure monitoring, incident management, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Coordinate with business units and Taiwan Headquarters to align IT initiatives with organizational objectives.
  • Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex issues escalated by the IT team.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect the organization against cybersecurity threats and data breaches.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Plan, manage, and deliver infrastructure projects on time, within scope, and within budget using established project management methodologies.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, consultants, and service providers, including proposal evaluations, contract negotiations, and SLA performance reviews.


Knowledge and Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016–2025), Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, and DHCP.
  • Extensive experience with VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
  • Experience with enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS) and RAID configurations.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise networking, including firewalls (Fortinet/Palo Alto), VPN technologies, VLANs, and SD-WAN.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven IT operations (AIOps), predictive maintenance, automation frameworks (Power Automate, n8n), and emerging infrastructure technologies.
  • Knowledge of data center facilities, including precision air conditioning (PAC), UPS redundancy, fire suppression systems, and physical infrastructure standards.
  • Strong understanding of IT security principles, cybersecurity technologies, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and long-term infrastructure planning.

Required Qualifications:

 

Years of Education

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

 

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing IT infrastructure strategies.
  • Experience leading infrastructure projects involving servers, virtualization, networking, storage, security, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience managing IT security and compliance initiatives.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale IT infrastructure projects.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
  • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification.
  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification.
  • Experience supporting global enterprise environments and collaborating with international teams.
  • Experience with AI-driven infrastructure automation and hybrid cloud technologies.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid work schedule based in Fremont, CA (3 days onsite, 2 days remote). 
  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required. 
  • Availability to support occasional evening or weekend maintenance, upgrades, or critical infrastructure issues as needed. 
  • May require work in data center/server room environments, including exposure to server hardware, cabling, and infrastructure equipment. 
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed. 

$86,000 to $108,000 annually is the estimated pay range for this role working in Fremont, California office. The final amount will be determined based on qualifications & experience of the candidate relative to the role.
